could be cached mode. if the user has good bandwidth to exchange then turn off cached mode and offline

yes you are correct. earlier I had cache mode enabled. after sp3 installation it got unchecked.. any idea why?

not sure why it would happen, maybe sp3 does that. even if you turn cached on it will be slow until all folders get synced again. after that it will be speedy. but if the mailbox is large then sometimes the .ost file acts a little wonky and gets corrupted.
