Hi

I am using windows XP Pro CD to bring a Laptop back to life. I booted it with the CD.  I  went head upto load windows screen.  There I chose Repair option.  It started to load files.  Now this message "When trying to update a password the return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct" comes. I spent a lot of time on this I really appreciate if some one can help me.  Thanks.

Quite possibly corrupt registry.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545 and http://www.minasi.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3292 on various methods to solve.
