Use Linksys PAPT2 for Overhead Paging

I have a customer that has a overhead paging system with an amp and from that amp it goes to a phone jack and to their phone system.  I would like to take that and plug it into the linksys PAPT2 and use it with freepbx.  Is there a way to have the Linksys PAPT2 auto answer so it can accept the call and play over the loud speaker?

Depending on the paging system interface, you may be better off with a different arrangement. If the paging system is something like a Viking PA-2A, and already has the ability to answer the line then the PAP-2T should work fine. However we typically find a paging system looking for an 8 ohm speaker interface. With these you need an adapter that can work as a speaker phone. There are other companies that make such an animal but we don't like the near $200 price tag. We typically install a Grandstream BT201 instead. This provides a SIP phone that can be set to auto answer for a sub $50 price tag. It has a 2.5mm headset jack that can be plugged straight into a 8 ohm interface.

I just hooked up the amp to the new phone system using the pap2 and i can head a dial tone over the loud speaker.  Is there a way to configure it to work with a pap2 and the freepbx or will i need to get like a grandstream phone and do it that way?
