Outlook 2007 Email stuck in Inbox

We are running Outlook 2007 connected to Exchange 2003 SP2 Enterprise.  I have 2 users that received the same email from an external sender.  The sender recalled the message and now the email is stuck in their inboxes.  You can not delete or move this email.  If you click on the email it says "Item can not be displayed" in the reading pane.  If you try to delete or move it it says "cannot move the items. it was either moved or already deleted..."  I have tried creating a new profile and set to work offline and neither worked.  The have large mailboxes (7GB and 12GB) as well.  We do not have an archiving solution at this time but looking into one.  Anyone come across this before or have any ideas??

I came across an issue like this. It was resolved by deleting the e-mail through webmail and
Recreating the *.ost file. hope this helps.

I tried going through webmail and deleting it and didn't work.  Also tried new ost file and didn't work.  Not using cached exchange mode either. :(

Not sure if this works in Outlook, but try highlighting the message in question and then hold the shift key and press the delete key while holding shift. That should delete the message without attempting to move it to the deleted items folder.

That worked! :)  Thought I had tried that but apparently not.  Thank you for your help!
