Wikimedia doesn't understand smb-links by default. Unless you want to share those files through a web-server, you need to have an extension on you wiki, like this:<br />

That says that it will &quot;convert file:///// links to smb:// and vice versa.&quot; Neither kind work so what's the point? We all are using Windows, I just can't get any kind of file link to show up as a hyperlink.

Our company has a corporate wiki and we are trying to include links to local files on the server. The links could be to like \\servername\file or file:///Z:/path/file. We have uniform drive mappings so either would work. I can't seem to find the syntax to get it to work.<br />
I tried using &lt;a href=, but &lt;a&gt; isn't one of the html tags that wikipedia supports.<br />
I'm not sure if I picked good zones or not.
