Exchange Email on Smartphone Error

This problem only affects 1 user who was previously working fine. All other users are working OK. When this user tries to sync his Exchange from mobile phone, the mail does not sync. Error on the SBS2003 event log reads:
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server [server name] User [User@domain.com] HTTP status code: [500]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox server is working correctly.

We have tried unning the 'Connect to Internet' wizzard again and also verified the user is in the correct user groups.
Suggestions most welcome.

Can that use log in to Outlook Web Access with the credentials OK?

verify the exchange configuration on the smartphone is correct (exemple server name/IP , Domain, User, User password, SMTP setup, etc...

If the mailbox is fine its probably an smartphone configuration issue.

Hi. Yes the user can log in to Outlook Web Access no problem. I have also tried setting up his email on an iPhone and a Nokia E75 and get the same problem. I can set other users up on the same phone and they work fine. The user was previously working without a problem.

Please work your way through my Exchange 2003 / Activesync article, check your settings / pre-requisites are in place, test the config on the test site and fix any errors using the error section of my article and if you get stuck, please let me know:

Well working in the OWA its different than using from the mobile device, you need to have an actvsync connector , need to configure the device accordingly.
Read the article that alanhardisty: posted to be clarified.

Most of the Errors in the Application Event Log if they are Event ID 3005 can be ignored, but my article should guide you through the correct way to configure your server to make sure activesync works properly.

We have solved the problem by rebuilding the users mailbox., running ost checks etc. I appreciate the comments above but most of them apply to a complete failure of active sync for all users. This was only affecting one user. Thanks for all comments though.
