asked on

How do I configure exchange 2007 / AD2003 to include email address with sender's name?

We are going to start using simpledisplayname in outgoing emails and would like to add the sender's email address to be included in the From: string. John Doe [john.doe@company.com].

Need to know where/how to configure the addition of the email string.

Thanks.

Sorry, but that doesn't answer my question as to configuring all outgoing to include the user's email address in the FROM: field. I have already populated the DisplayNamePrintable (simple display name). Since the GAL will use this, rather than Display Name, I do not want the email address embedded in the simple display name string.

After a bit more reading, I find that the GAL will continue to show the Display Name, so that's good. I guess what I need then, is a vb script or powershell script that I can use to update existing user accounts to include: FN LN [myemail@domain.com] for the simple display name.

Thanks for the guidance - My problem was simply that I did not completely understand "how" the address would appear on the recipient side and thought that I would have to somehow add in the user's email address to the SDN. Not the case.
