I have a poweredge 2950 with a message that scrolls across the lcd display stating VSCDC001  nothing else.  What does that mean??  I cant get the poweredge 2950 to scroll just the VSCDC001 message.  LCD is Blue.  Server boots ok.

That is (or was) probably the servername or something. You can program that LCD to display whatever you want from within the BIOS. I program mine to display the server name or sarcastic/narcissistic messages if I'm in the mood.

Reboot, go into the BIOS and check around, pretty sure that's where you set it, it's been a while since I messed with it though. It might be set in one of the Dell system utilities as well or instead.

If it was yellow/orange it would mean an error, but blue means everything is normal.
