Select a range of ports on a 3500XL

I am trying to configure a range of ports on a cisco catalyst 3500XL, but range isn't a valid input.
Is there a way to select a range of ports on this thing?

Negative. Port range command is only available on IOS-based switches, and although the 3500XL
"looks" like IOS, it is really CATOS.

That's what I had read.  I just wanted it confirmed. It's not too bad I could script it or use the Cisco Network Assistant.  Thanks.
