I have an xp pro SP3 with all updates PC that is running IE 8.  The problem I am having is the websearch bar does not work.  If you type something into the searchbar it gives suggestions, but when you click on any of those suggestions, it won't "display the page" appears.  The same thing also occurs when you type directly to the address bar. Links that are on the yahoo home page work, and everthing else in IE 8 works fine.

I have reinstalled IE 8, ran a repair on windows, Scanned for virus and spyware in safe and regular modes with no fix to the problem. Google will not work at all.

Please help.

Thank you

Broozer1--"Websearch bar" used to be the name of malware.

Can you uninstall it?
Perhaps change the default Search engine.  (Like to Google or Bing.)

using the older version of IE8 still references the "windows live" links which those are outdated. You can add more through the sections provided by the browser and add bing, or google to it.
