Our PowerEdge server recently crashed.  It had Raid 1 configured.  The error message is "Operating System not found".  I tried booting it from second disk, same error message.  I contacted Dell technical support.  They confirmed that issue is OS related and couldn't assist.  I have two choices.  Contact MIcrosoft technical support to repair my OS or reinstall Windows SBS 2008 and recover OS and Data from most recent Symantec Backup Exec 2010 backup.  If I reinstall Windows SBS 2008, Symantec Backup Exec 2010 and recover from backup, will everything work the way it used to?  Please get back to me ASAP, it's urgent.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It should, yes.

Do you have a clean backup?

And are you certain your HDD are in good order?

Have you attempted the repair/recovery yet?

Yes, I have a clean backup.  What do you mean by Hard drive in good order?  I have not yet attempted to repair or recovery yet?  Do you mean from backup?  How would you go about repair it?

Thanks.

I was able to restore OS and data from backup.  The only problem I am having at the moment is with Symantec Backup 2010 servies not starting in Directory Service Restore Mode so I can restore Active Directory.  Can someone please help?

Thanks.
