Pivot Graph data entry change

Sorry, one last question... How do I make a single source of data entry? The columnar (Columns A,B,C on 'Data and pivot table report' tab appear to be where the Pivot grpahs are pulled from?
I would like the columns F-N be the data source for all, they would be easier to enter data on.
Do I have to keep Columns A,B, and C on 'Data and pivot table report' tab to make the Pivot reports  function correctly?

Your Pivot Charts are pulled from each of the two Pivot Tables in the "Pivot Charts" tab.  However, the source of those two pivot tables is indeed Column A,B,C on the "Data and pivot table report" tab.

You cannot enter data into a pivot table, as you are suggesting.  You have to enter it at the SOURCE to do that.  PS - the data source for that pivot table on the "Data and pivot table report" tab comes from some external file, apparently. At least it does on my download - but the source is easy to change back to Columns A, B & C

Yes- the way its setup you have to keep Columns A-C, and that is the datasource.

If you would like to enter data in a new format like that pivot table on the "Data and pivot table report" tab, you need to setup your source data as such...

See the tab "New Approach" which heads you in that direction.

Cheers,

Dave

What about the format in 'Data Entry' tab? Then slurp the data into the pivot table in 'Data and pivot table report' and 'Pivot charts'? Maybe I can ditch the  'Data and pivot table report' tab altogther?

When I try and change the date source in 'Pivot charts' to 'Data Entry' I get a 'Data source is not valid' error...any thoughts?

Ok - you made a similar example to mine, which is great.  This table you created is not a pivot table so you can't change pivot charts.

but you can create charts off the new Data Entry Table, with some tweaks.  I created a data table for charting to the right of your data entry (N/A values don't plot - no worries) use the filter to determine what weeks/days will be plotted.

I think you can build your other charts off this...

See attached...

This is more waht I am looking for, however the Pivot table don't seem to be linked to 'Data Entry' sheet. I tried changing the Pivot data source, but an entirely new Pivot table came up.
On Pivot tables, the data has to be in a table, right? So will the formatting of the data in 'Data Entry' be an issue? Should the formatting be removed and made just a plain table?
thanks!!

You need to stop using the Pivot table charts as you no longer are working with pivot tables.  I created a chart off your data entry.  Feel free to create additional charts off that, using that as an example.

Apparently the formatting of Data Entry is not an issue as the table I created off that works - does it not?
