I need to move one of the mailstores to a newly created drive to free up space. I will do this by right clicking th mailstore and choosing the new drive path and run through the wizard. I have not done this before so have the following questions.
1- Should I dismount the mailstore before moving
2- If not, can it be done in a live environment? ie: will the mailboxes on the store be unavailable for everybody during the move or just the mailbox at that particular time?
3- I presume it does not take an excessively long time and would be similar to moving a 40GB file.

1- Should I dismount the mailstore before moving
Nop it will get dismounted alone
2- If not, can it be done in a live environment? ie: will the mailboxes on the store be unavailable for everybody during the move or just the mailbox at that particular time?
The store will be dismounted during the whole time of the move

3- I presume it does not take an excessively long time and would be similar to moving a 40GB file.
It will take the same amount of time needed to copy the edb file and/or log files from one location to another
