Did I solve this correctly? Thanks.
Solve for a.  s=15  f=12  t=6

f=s+at

f=s+at
f-s=s+at-s
f-s=at
(f-s)/t=a/t
(f-s)/t=a

(12-15)/6=a
-3/6=a
-1/3=a

The books answer is a=-0.5

f=s+at
f-s=s+at-s
f-s=at
(f-s)/t=a/t  << typo here:   (f-s)/t = at/t
(f-s)/t=a

Solve for a.  s=15  f=12  t=6

(12-15)/6=a
-3/6=a
-1/3=a    << 3/6 = 1/2, not 1/3.   1/3 = 2/6

Thanks. You don't know how relieved I am that it is just a simple math error on my part.
