HI ALL,

i have recently migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. What i want to do is create a replica server for failover.

I have purchased an identical server which will be housed in Site B, the current Exchange server is in Site A, So if site A was to go down, i would like a automatic failover server in Site B. Is this possible? i was told this was possible in Exchagen 2010. both Sites are connected via a Site to site VPN. Do i need a 3rd party software for this tow work? or is there a better solution for this?

You can accomplish it by using DAG Cluster. In order to get best redundacy in Exchange 2010. You need to keep below items:

Server Resilency
Disk Resilency
Site Resilency

For maximum fault tolerance, you can create DAG and keep one copy at same site and another copy in remote site. In this case you need to enable DAC also to avoid split syndrom issue. Wait for my next post with design.
