Internet Explorer Print Preview Google Maps Query

Hello,

I need someone to help me check something, to make sure the problem I am experiencing seems to be specific to IE8 and not just me and my users.

The problem I have is printing any map in Google Maps when viewed via IE8, the map appears "broken up" via white spaces, as if the map is made up of several images and those images have padding, like a HTML table. I have attached a screen shot of the problem.

For your convenience, I link an example map location as follows:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Thames+Ditton&aq=0&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=11.957247,28.081055&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Thames+Ditton,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.382495,-0.326843&spn=0.197132,0.438766&z=11&pw=2

In IE8, hit the "Alt" button to show the menu options, and from the File menu, select "Print Preview". You will notice that the map is broken up. if you were to print the page, it would print exactly like how it is previewed.

This does not happen in Firefox! And I can't give my users anything other than IE8.

Would anyone be able to suggest what the problem is here, atleast state if the problem is with Microsoft, my computer, or Google

also You can try to add google.co.uk to the Compatability view settings to see if that makes it good for all maps worked on mine

When i clicked on the Compatibility View button, it automatically added the page to the list in Compatibility View Settings, and it remembered it after I closed/opened the browser.

Thanks,

This fix does work, but you must be viewing maps.google.com site in your browser when you implement the fix. If you're viewing this page when you do the fix it will not work, and it will 'break' this page.
