Exchange Server 2010 - Automatic SMS message for Downtime

Hi,

Is there any utility in Exchange Server 2010 or any third party utility that sends a "sms" / "text message" to my phone when the exchange services / e-mail is not working.

(P.S. We are running Windows Server 2008)

Thank you

If you don't want to buy any tool then.

You need a script and batch/schedule it every 10-15 mins from remote server and email it to you. I am doing it from last 2 years. Make sure your server allows to relay your remote server

Hi , I mean can I monitor my Exchange Server via SMS service so that I can get an sms when the services are down from both the BlackBerry Server and the mail server ?

Thank you
I don't think you can monitor it via SMS service. You can monitor it with a tool like SCOM or any other 3rd party tool/script, then trigger an alert to you desired email address or SMS vendor. Again you need check if your vendor supports it. All vendor doesn't provide these services. There might be some extra charges.
Any recommended 3rd party tools/script ?
You can use SCOM which is best along with other features like monitoring network devices, ACS services etc.
Hi ,

As you all suggested I wil install SCOM on the Exchange Server 2010 and try it out.
Any ideas as how to go about this installation - step by step ??

I am a newbie to SCOM or any monitoring sevice. Does SCOM can be configured to send SMS to my phone?

Thank you
You can download the management Pack.

Hi ,

What about "http://www.solarwinds.com"  to monitor my servers so that it is going to send a SMS to me when the server goes down?

Any ideas about this and what product from solar winds is suitable for my needs?

Thank you

I doubt whether it supports Exchange 2010. Try it
