Change URL and Redirect Old URL

Can anyone confirm that when you change a custom URL for a facebook fanpage that the old url will redirect to the new address?

Right now our url is facebook.com/Our-Long-Company-Name
we would like to change it to facebook.com/OLCN

Since the old URL is in publications we would like it to redirect if possible.
Any help is appreciated.

Took a shot and changed it and it worked. Confirmed Both the new and old URL are still working.
