Server 2003 Explorer not working

Have a single Windows 2003 Std. server and recently Windows explorer has gone away.  The only way I can get to things is via the Task Manager RUN command.  From the Task Manager when I "run" explorer.exe or c:\windows\explorer.exe there is a quick flash on the screen (as though it is trying to open it) that is so fast you have to have superman eyes to see what was trying to display.

I have been doing some research on the problem and one of the solutions recommends using "scf /scannow"...BUT this seems to be too scray to run on a production server... Any other options or ideas would be most appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

SFC /scannow is not scary run this you should be good this will fix all corrupt Windows files. You will not see an issue with this.
