I am looking for a SQL view that will show me details on invoices that have been paid and invoices that are still open.  I would need the date the invoice was paid off if it has been completely paid.

You can use this to get the information you need: http://victoriayudin.com/2009/04/24/sql-view-with-all-posted-receivables-transactions/.  It will return all receivables transactions, but you can easily restrict it to just invoices.  DateInvPaidOff will be the date that GP considers the invoice completely paid.
