iMovie is not a standard downloadable application.  You will need to get hold of the installation DVD or a backup image with the correct version.

You may be able to get it through the new AppStore, but you will most likely have to pay for it.

I would suggest tracking down your original disk or finding a very kind friend.  The version that came with your MacBook should be on the additional DVD that came with the MacBook.  it is not on the standard OS installation DVD.

Then you may have to try to get to an Apple store or Apple supplier to get them to either install for you or give you a new set of disks.  I am not sure if Apple will do this via post - but you could try if your macbook is still under warranty or under apple care.

Failing that, you will have to find a friend who has the installer or application.
