I'm planning on installing a 2nd exchange 2010 server, basically we have another site that is linked to our network and the server down there has a lot of spare storage space.

I want to install and setup another exchange 2010 server that will only hold online archives for our users.

It won't hold anything else just contain the online archives and won't be recieving email.

What is the best way to do this?

Just install the mailbox role and create a store for using as archives.

You will need Exchange 2010 SP1 to be able to specify a different store for the online archives, but that's about it really :)

Thanks, I'm fully up to date on my current exchange 2010 server.

I was assuming it was going to be that simple, but I just wanted to double check before I done anything.
I will accept your answer once I've got the new server up and running.

Cheers,
J
