Scanner to do the following

Is there a scanner or digital sender that can scan to email by directly connecting to SMTP?  And/or an added feature if it can do the first, connect to LDAP to pull email addresses?

There are many scanners/multi-function copiers that can do that.

The HP chuckyh was the benchmark used already.  I was looking for 2 cheaper alternatives.  However, the answer is appreciated!
