1) Author reviews a document in Compatibility Mode in MS Word 2007.
2) Reviewer "Bobby Reed Smith" inserts a Word comment, deletes text and adds text, and as he does so, his user initials ("BRS") and name (Bobby Reed Smith) are included in the comment bubble number.
3) When Bobby saves the document, about a half-second later the comment bubble and included text remain unchanged, but all the user initials have changed to "Author inserted",

Try this code.
This code will update the user Initials to Author (char. is limited to nine in initials) if the user initials match to reviewer's initial. In this case, it is BRS.

Private Sub Document_Open()
    If Application.UserInitials = "BRS" Then
    Application.UserName = "Author inserted"
    Application.UserInitials = "Author"
    Else
    End If
End Sub

Thanks royhsiao. But I put this in the wrong zone; it should be Windows OS. Also, I don't have rights to add code to user's computer. I'd also like to find out why it's only happening to this one user and none of her colleagues.

I am using Windows MS 2007.
I guess a easier way is to manually update  the user name and initials before her/she inserts word comments.
or
you could insert the macro that I gave to you in the word documents and distribute it to the user.

The code I wrote only works for BRS. I will need to revise the code if you want to include other people.
