I am running a vitural server and i have delete the network adapter and created a new network adapter. When attempt to assign an ip address to the new adapter, there is a messaging saying that IP Address is in use on another adapter on the virtual server. Is there a way to delete the other adapter permanently from the vitural server?

yes. Once you have the NIC turned off you should be able to ping the ip you want and get no answer.
