Gmail IMAP account issue

This one is a weird one: have a customer using the same gmail account for quite a while.
Used it mainly with Mac mail and on his Blackberry.
All of a sudden, he cannot access his Gmail on either BB nor Mac mail. He is able to access the actual account using
I changed the password, same result.
The error is basically telling the user that the password is wrong...reset password 3 times to same results.
I've tried my own gmail account, no problems in either Mac mail or BB... I triple-checked the setting on his gmail account... still puzzled...
Thank you.

Did you delete and recreate the accounts 0n the MAC and BBerry?

If not, delete completely and reset=up, perhaps there is a setting that isn't obvious that is causing a conflict?

Hi Plantwiz;

I did on the Mac, I didn't on the BB.
Do you think not deleting the acct on the BB would prevent MAc mail from receiving e-mails?

Depends on why the account is (for lack of better phasing in my fog ATM) in conflict.

Because you were successful in adding your own account, I suspect there may be a problem with the users account.

Were you able to add yours to BOTH the MAC and the BBerry?  If you did and they worked, sure scrub them off both and re-add let's see if that cleans up the problem.  Power cycle both units before adding the information back in.

Hi Plantwiz: thanks for your prompt input. I found the issue: I went into the KEYCHAIN in the MAC, cleaned up all the entries for, re-created the account, and that worked in the MAC.
Now I have to try the Blackberry... weird one, but it made sense.
BTW, user is running the lastest Mac OS.
Thanks again,

You are welcome!

Strange for a MAC to 'mess-up' but it does happen occassionally.

Let me know how the BlackBerry works out!

I was finally able to work on the customer's BB: all is good. It started working right after I fixed the MAC keychain issue... wierd...
Thanks again.
