Is there a jQuery plugin that would enlarge a widget?

Hi,
I need provide some animation effect such that when user clicks on one of the widget, see attached file, I would have to so like a popup dialog, with faded backdrop, the clicked widget would be the popup dialog excet it would larger in size.  How do I do this and is there an example for this?  Thank you.
