How can i deploy a webmail certificate to certain distribution groups

Hi,

Our senior engineer has left, and i have been given the task to deploy a certificate to certain distribution groups for users.

I want to know if this can be done with Group Policy, as i have tried to deploy it to a test machine and cannot get it to work.

what i did, Create a GPO under users, i then edited to point to > computer config > policies > Windows Settings > security > Public Key policies > Trusted root Certification Authorities and imported the certificate. was successful.

I then added the test user and made the GPO enforced.

I then logged onto the user account and cannot see any prompt or certificate in the store, i also did gpupdate /force cmd and still nothing.

Please advise what i did wrong or if their is a better step
Thanks EE gurus

Is the GPO applying to the user's OU or the computer's? It should be applied to the computers, not the users.

Well the users need to work from home, some are doctors and just general department admins.

so im not sure which will be the best OU then :/

If the machine isn't part of the domain, you will need to distribute the certificate or CA autority another way, such as send it to them in email.
