Hi gudii9,

There are no demerits in java 1.5 when you compare 1.4, it offers more enhanced feature for the developer for comfortable usage of java api for the efficient programming.

It offers many features like generics, Autoboxing, StringBuilder, ProcessBuilder, enum, annotations. Enhanced for loop and enhanced collections.

I can say 1.5 provides the comfort programming for developer to write the efficient programs compared to 1.4.
