Sccm 2007 updates not expiring when i publish expired updates in scup

I am having issues expiring updates in sccm 2007 that i have expired and published in scup. I have been through the steps of setting the expired status to true in scup then publishing the update. Then wsync in sccm 2007 and the expired status is still set to no.

As soon as the updates are expired in sccm they will disappear after 14 days
