Hi, I have a MOSS 2010 Farm in one forest (A), and AD in another (B) that is not recognized. Forest(A) trusts Forest (B) but not vice versa.

I executed the following:
stsadm -o setproperty -url http://server:port -pn peoplepicker-searchadforests -pv "forest:domainB.edu,forestadmin@domainB.edu,P@ssword;domain:domaincontroller.domainB.edu,forestadmin@domainB.edu,P@ssword"

And am receiving the following error:
Cannot receive information for the application credential key.

Any advice here?

You need to run another command, befor the above command to set the App Cred Password.

STSADM.exe -o setapppassword -password key

We solved the problem by re-installing MOSS and specifying a different user for the services, however I'm sure the suggested solution will help someone else.

I thought I'd write this up for anyone who has a request to create an anonymous whistle-blower-type submission form created using SharePoint 2010 (this would probably work the same for 2013). It's not 100% fool-proof but it's as close as you can get…
