Is there a way to add a progress bar to single file uploads in Sharepoint 2010

HI
I notice that in Sharepoint 2010, when you upload multiple files using IE, you get progress bars. Is there any way you can get a progress bar to show up when you upload single files?

I'm after setting up a portal whereby our clients can upload content up to 500MB externally. At the moment, there is no way for them to tell the status of the upload.

Thanks

Hi
That makes sense, but is there somewhere I can find a custom upload page that somebody else has done? I have no idea how to create one.....

Thanks
create a feature with new  custom action/button for putting the upload page url in the ribbon. you can find this in msdn.

and on button click traverse user to your custom page. which is nothing but simple asp.net page with code behind of  your selected language. here you need to write your magic logic to upload the file and show the progress bar as well.

a bit you need to work on..I think you can do it.

Hi Vikas
Thanks for your help, but what you're saying is way past my ability. I'm hoping that somebody can have an easier answer, and suggest something pre-made that I can adapt... possibly over-optimistic.
