Update Calendar when changing items in another list

We want to implement a sharepoint modification that solves the following 2 tasks:
A) Update the Calendar when inserting / changing / deleting items in another list.
B) Update the corresponding dates of this other list from within the calendar
Questions to the experts:
- Is it possible to solve A), B), both?
- What other tools would we need (Visual Studio...),
- What skills does one need to solve such a problem, how long should it take to solve it?
We use a sharepoint calendar.
In the same web, there is another list that keeps track of events (exhibitions).
The even-list beneath some other information has two dates: event-start and event-end.
Requirement A): When a new event is added or changed or deleted, the teams calender shall be updated: "Event x from start_date to end_date"
For example: user adds event "Exhibition Marc Chagall Zurich" "December 20th 2011" to "January 20th 2012" then the
teams calendar should show the event-name, event-start and end for all team members.
When the start and end dates are changed, then the teams calendar should be updated accordingly. Same after Delete of an event.
Requirement B): When a team member changes the start or end date of an event in the calender, this should be
reflected in the list that tracks the events.
