Windows Live Messenger with Webcam - Friend can see me but I cannot see myself

I use WLM v2009 build 14.0.8117.416 with a webcam. I can make a video call and the person I am calling can see me fine, but I cannot see myself.

If I go to Audio/Video settings and test the video it works fine.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Can you see yourself in the 'audio and video setup' ?

In 'audio and video setup' , on the webcam page, is your device listed as 'Default' or the name of your webcam?

If default, change to your actual device and retry.

-Goto tools--> options
-Make sure "allow others to see I have a webcam" is ticked.
-Shut Messenger down and restart.
-Go tools ---> audio/video setup make sure everything is correct.

Also, have you updated the webcam drivers?

Also, try this ---> http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2009/02/12/enable-show-my-webcam-on-windows-live-messenger-2009-workaround/

Also, have you tried repairing msn or uninstalling and installing again?

Hope this helps.

How weird, it required "allow others to see I have a webcam" to allow me to see my own webcam where everyone else could already see it!
