Hi.

We are setting up a XenDesktop 5 on Microsoft Hyper V where in we are delivering Persistent desktops to the end users.

Can some one guide me with the best practices to setup a monitorng solution?

Also i have the following queries:

1. How do we monitor Provisioning Server. We are using PVS 5.6 SP1. Can citrix edge sight monitor PVS?

2. Do we need agent database server in Citrix Edge Sight for Persistent Desktops.

3. Do we need to install any agent of the Persistent desktop. How will Edge sight monitor the persistent desktops. Can some one explain me the working or provide me with some document.
I have visited citrix edocs. I need additional documentation.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Rohan.

Rohan, You have two options that I am aware of for monitoring desktops.

1 - If you are using a local cache disk, you can install the edgesight agent to this disk, since it will be unique for each machine.

2 - Use the agent database server. This is a pretty simple setup. Just create a share on your Edgesight server for the agents to dump to. Install the agent database component, and install the client on your private mode image.
