we have a 2003 SBS server with Exchange 2003 SP2.  My boss using Outlook 2007 on her computer.  she has noticed that in OWA, several of her calendar items are missing, but they all appear properly in Outlook 2007.  someone suggested to me that it might only be the recurring events that dont show up but we just looked at that and while the ones not showing up are indeed recurring, there are plenty of others that are also recurring that do show up.  I google searched this and found results for the opposite issue (i.e. calendar events in owa not appearing in outlook 2007) but I didn't see anything that fit this issue.

hmmm... those instructions don't appear to be for the same version of exchange that I am running.  it tell you to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EXCDO\Parameters but when I follow the path I get to microsoft and there is no \EXCDO there.  I did a search for EXCDO in the registry and found a lot of references to excdo.dll and a few keys named EXCDO under event viewer keys.

originally typed up a reply right after my last one saying "hold that thought... posted comments say make those... but I forgot to hit submit... so here is the updated version below...

ok... after looking at the comments on the bottom of the page I saw that it says to go ahead and create those keys if they dont exist.  it isnt very clear on the last step where I am supposed to post that long string (CleanupExpansionCachesInTheCalendarFolder) but assume it meant in outlook to open the calendar properties and put it in the description box there.  after doing that it appears to have changed nothing.  checked and found cached exchange mode is off and even had her restart outlook.  Just for testing purposes I just had her turn on cached exchange mode and still no change in the calendars.  2 recurring meetings in particular are missing.  she is the organizer on one of thema nd someone else is the organizer on the other.

Some posts mention restarting the inforrmation store service for the registry change to take effect.

yeah, the hotfix actually did that when i ran it, but I did it again to be sure after first trying it and still not seeing all of the calendar entries.

I've found a few articles that suggest database corruption as a possible cause of this too... I thinkw e are going to schedule an offline defrag and see what happens.

After the offline defrag run the poof again (they really have to change that name) ;-)

yeah... I don't like that name either... lol.  it's going to be a few days at least before I'll be able to do the defrag... gotta get approvals and such.  I'm going to try to suggest leaving early today or tomorrow and doing it lat at night.

once the defrag was done we tested and nothing changed, and then I remembered you had suggested doing the poof again afterwards and sure enough it worked.
