BPS 4.2 - 9700 Inbox Sync issue / SBS 2003 R2

Client is running SBS 2003 R2 with BPS 4.2 installed site only has only two BB 9700 connected all was working fine, on the weekend one of the users did a lot of filing from his inbox to outlook folders in his mail box.
His Outlook 2007 client reflects the changes made, his iPad connected via Activesync reflects the changes in the exchange inbox however all the mail that was filed still shows on is BB 9700 inbox and has not updated, it still shows in his inbox.
I have asked him to wait and see if it comes good, it has not after 24 hours and have also asked for him to remove the battery and repower the BB 9700, still it shows in his inbox on the BB 9700 but not in outlook 2007 inbox.
He can receive new email on his BB 9700 no problems and can send, new mail just adds to the BB9700 inbox that was cleaned out, very strange, any tricks to get this syncing again correctly?
