On my laptop when I log in as administrator the wifi pops right up and I am able to get on.  If I log in as the guest profile the wifi acts like it is not installed.  In device manager it is but in the network connections it is missing.  Any ideas?

Guest has even less rights then a standard user. It won't work most of the time. Make a normal user and try that.
