MySql.Data.dll error

I have an app running fine using MySqlConnector/NET on my testing PC but when it is loaded to the server I get this error.

Could not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.

I assume it means just what it says and I loaded a .ddl file newer than the server is using. Is this true?

My host has to tell me what .dll to use if any?

Also, it simply goes in a bin folder on the app at the same level as I have on my testing machine. True?

Thanks

Hi Thomas,
There could be may reasons for this, but some one of them can be:
If you have installed this dll from some installer then make sure you have installed same package on your server.
So either sychronize the server with same package or add other dlls remove the package. more simply copy/add this dll and related dlls in bin folder and check if tyour problem is resolved or not.
