Ipad 2 Alternative?

I am ready to purchase an ipad 2 to use for managing my small business.

What I would do with it:
-Support about 15 pc's remotely via logmein
-Work in/on my server via remote desktop
-Develop my company intranet via google sites.
-Watches movies (off work), also, connect it to my tv to do so
-Communicate with colleges, friends, family via skype (facetime would be nice but I can do w/ skype)

I use an Iphone 3gs.
I am a pc guy and google guy, but the iphone works so well.

The competition seems more reasonably priced.  Are they similar?  Ahould I get something else?

Most of the tablets listed on that link are not nearly as good as the iPad in terms of speed and quality.  They are a lot cheaper, but you'll feel it if you try to do remote management...it will be slow.

IMNSHO, there are only two real competitors to the iPad.  The Galaxy Tab and now the Motorola Xoom.  They are priced similarly to the iPad and have roughly equivalent hardware inside.  There are Android Apps for remote control of a machine (although I do not know if logmein has an android version yet).  So what it comes down to is which OS you like better...iOS or Android.

Are their any online demos of Android for a tablet?

Not a demo per se, but you can download the SDK for it and that will come with an emulator.  However, the speeds won't be the same.

Honestly, I would just take the time to go to your local Best Buy or Staples or Office Despot or wherever and demo it hands on.   You'll get a much better feel for it.

Thanks for the points.  Just playing a hunch here...is Swedish Motors your company and are you based in West Los Angeles by any chance?

No we are in Marietta, PA (unfortunatly there are quite a few Swedish Motors, we are the original and have no affiliation with any other SM company)

Yeah I figured there was more than one, but it was worth a try.  My wife has had a Saab and two Volvos in the last 15 years, so you could say she's a fan :)
