Hi,

We have an issue with a user here that has many spreadsheets that are locked for editing by that user only.  All of a sudden today, he is unable to unlock the sheets.  We've tried the usual is cap locks on, blank password e.t.c. but nothing unlocks the sheets.  Also, he has the password documented in a password file so more than likely is entering correctly.

Is there a software program for Excel 2007 that helps retrieve or reset spreadsheets are password protected?  Maybe another method of retrieving or resetting the password on these sheets?  500 points for best answer as I need this sorted as high priority.  Thanks.

Can you upload the file here so that I can take a shot at it?

If you are not talking about the File Open password but the Sheet protection password then it will take me 5 mins max to extract the password.

Then you will have to buy a commercial software.

If it's the password to modify sheets or protect the workbook structure, a simple Google search will find VBA that will do it in a minute or so. ;)

It's probably the status box that slows it down to 5 minutes. ;)

Yes, you are right. :)

It slows down as it shows every password that it is testing. Was thinking more in terms of "Asthetic Sense" LOL
