Using Backup Exec 2010 for my VM SQL Server

I am currently running Backup Exec 2010 and trying to backup my VM SQL server 2000, I have a SQL agent but when I running the backup it completes with exceptions. I look at my BE Job log and I see the:
V-79-57344-38728  The SQL database 'DataPrep' on virtual machine '\My Server is configured to maintain transaction logs, but transaction log backups are not being performed. Not backing up the transaction log results in the log growing in size until it fills all available disk space. You should either schedule regular log backups or change the database to the simple recovery mode.

In my backup properties for backup method I’m using Full-Backup entire database or file group is this the wrong backup?

Hi,

You can't take a transactional backup if the recovery model is Full. If a database is set in Simple recovery model means, the SQL Engine will automatically truncates the LOG FILE of the Database if its get 80% full. You can use this model, it depends upon your environment, but in this model u can able to restore the point in data loss.

If you are stil not clear, let me know the steps as you are doing with the issues.
