I have latest drivers installed and for the mouse and motherboard and also for usb, my motherboard supports high speed usb. But I dont know whats the problem. Here how I know that this is the problem, when mouse is on ps2 and moue rate is 100 if I move rapidly fast mouse it goes crazy but when I reduce it it's almost ok freezing is less happening. I am using mx500, motherboard asus a7v333-x, 1GB ram ddr1, Ati Radeon hd 3450 512 MB agp(latest drivers), but I dont know what are the latest drivers for the usb here is what I have:
Usb root hub, diver version:5.1.2600.5512
Via usb enhanced host controler, driver version:5.1.2600.0, driver date:1.6.2002

Here is the list of things that arent solving the problem:
The computer is very busy & the system resources are very low. (It's not)
Start>Settings>Control Panel>System>Performance>Graphics
Do this:
Move the Hardware Acceleration Slider one or two clicks to the left. (Tried, not working)
Don't have any IRQ conflicts, I checked.
Your system is overheating.(Tempretare's are ok)
You have bad memory. (Memory is good)
Reinstalling the dirvers for mouse want do the trick already tried.
I have even installed xp god know how many times.
Tried to rise a dpi but that is the main problem.
I dont have any virus or malware system is clean.
Voltage on usb is 4,75V.
When I plug in a genius net scroll mouse it work perfectly even on the same usb that mx500 froze it. I even tried pluging out the network card but still nothing.

Here is another idea this is also happening a lot when I play cod2, my mouse just freezes after 2 min of playing the game. I have searched the whole internet with no solution.
Windows XP Sp3 installed original.
Any solution?

Check your System Event Log for mouse buffer overflow errors

You sometimes may get an error message telling you that you have an overflow in your mouse buffer or keyboard buffer. When that happens, it means the buffer isn't large enough and you need to increase its size. To increase your mouse buffer, run the Registry Editor, go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Mouclass\Parameters

and find the

MouseDataQueueSize

subkey. The default setting is 100 (64 hex). Increase the decimal number to increase the size of the buffer; then exit the Registry and reboot. You may need to try several different settings until you find the right one.

Are there any mouse buffer overflow messages in the System Event Log?

Something else to try:

See if it helps to change to the USB polling rate:

Click "Start" and type "Regedit" in the "Run" field. Hit "Return" to open the Registry Editor tool.

Navigate to the following registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\0000]

Right-click the key and select "Create" and "DWORD" from the list of options.

Right-click on the new key and select "Rename." Type "IdleEnable" and click "OK."

Right-click the "IdleEnable" key and in the "Value" field type "1" to increase the polling interval.

Reboot the Windows computer to save these settings.

Noup even that wont work, here something that I've discovered, when cursor freezes, I have a program that's called hidusbf and it's used for increasing mouse rate but it has to restart the usb service and even if I don't increase the mouse rate just simple restart that service cursor works but it's still the same thing even after that it just freezes in cod2.

Must be something about the particular mouse.  What's the make and model of the mouse?

Logitech mx 500, but the rest information on the back of the mouse can't be seen because over time it disappeared.

I think that problem is maybe in punk buster service I noticed in the event log the times when it started and sent stop signal that that's the time where my mouse stop working. Do you happened to know how to solve this? But the thing is that punk buster service is restarting by it self what does it have to do with my mouse?
