My helpdesk team is getting hammered with complaints because a VP ask for a folder to be created. Failed to give us a complete list of people that VP wanted to give access too and sent out link.. couple people where left off and access denied.  I am looking for a template to keep track of file permissions , Owner of folders, person to requested folder etc..etc... Any help would be great.

File server: Windows 2003

thanks

Hi,

I have used DumpSec v2.8.6.  It gives you a list of permissions and who has it.  It's an excellent tool.  Here is the link- http://www.systemtools.com/somarsoft/?somarsoft.com

No, you can save the report as comma or tab separated columns and then pull it into excel.  You may need to tweak it based upon your criteria.

You can try using the this too- http://www.systemtools.com/exporter/index.html  for exporting the output.
