Turbotax fails to run after being installed (CLR20r3)

Received the message Turbotax 2010 has stopped working after clicking on the shortcut to the launch the program.

Computer is brand new with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit installed and is fully up-to-date.  Turbotax 2009 is installed and works perfectly.   Turbotax 2010 installs with no errors but unable to run program after installing.


More details that were provided when program stopped working.

Possible solutions that we have already attempted that do not work.

1. reinstalled Turbotax 2010
2. ran program as administrator
3. ran .NET Utility Tool provided by turbotax to attempt to fix the error
4. ran program under a different user account
5. installed most current version of .NET

Have you tried right clicking the luancher for the application going to properties then the compatability tab and selecting xp sp2?

We tried to run the application in xp sp2, and vista compatibility modes with the same results.

Hi,

Uninstall all version of turbo tax using this tool

1. Download

http://www.ursoftware.com/product/uninstaller/download.htm

2. Select pro option.

3. Uninstall the product.

4. It will go through 3 stages. Make sure you complete those steps.

5. Restart the computer

Then try to install turbo tax

URSoft Your Uninstaller is a $4o program that may or may not work and if you want it for free you have to sign up for a partners monthly service!  But we removed both versions with Revo Uninstaller, then reinstalled Turbotax 2010 and still had the same issue.

In Trial  there is no restrictions. You do not have to purchase the software.  I would request you to follow my steps. No need to purchase the software. Just follow my steps.

We followed your instructions to the letter and used "Your Unin-staller" and still receive the same message after reinstalling TurboTax 2010 and trying the run the program.

Uninstall all version of turbotax and then restart the computer. Create a new user account. Restart the computer and login under new user account. Try installing all windows updates. Now install turbotax.

We followed your instructions to the letter and still receive the same message after reinstalling TurboTax 2010 and trying the run the program.  We decided we would be able to resolve the problem quicker by doing a fresh install of windows.  It solved the problem indirectly but it was not the solution we were looking for.

Solved the problem by wiping the system clean and starting over, but did not directly solve the problem.
