In my company we have a wss 3.0 enviroment. We use it as a workspace for business projects. For every new project I create a site from a template. Beside some lists and document libraries, the template contains some URL's pointing to network shares. These URL's are different for every new project, so everytime I create a new site, I have to change te URL's manualy.

Is there a way to generate the URL's automaticly? The URL's are all based on project name and number. So these are the only values that change every time. The path's that are in the URL's stay the same.

Many ways to do programatically
simply use a feature receiver for that and make all changes needed at the onCreate event .

But if you do not want to write code  you can  do one of the following
[1] simply have the URL in a content editor webpart and contact the strings as needed.
[2] You can have the Links  as a column in a list along with the PROJECT name and number .

again all that depends on how you are storing and displaying those URLs.

Best of luck.
