Hi

Sorry this is an absolute beginner question

I am currently running an EC2 Instance (Linux-Micro) and want to make a backup of my machine. I can create Snapshots, as well as bundle an AMI. What is the easiest Backup Solution using the AMI Management Console ?

Can I create a new machine from a snapshot of my volume ?

Please explain the differences between AMI, Volume, Snapshot and Bundle...

Thx in Advance

Found out how it works using the online support from amazon

simply use the ec2-api-tools for an Liinux ebs backed instance :

# sudo apt-get install ec2-api-tools
# ec2-create-snapshot which creates a snapshot of the root volume
# ec2-register-snapshot, which creates an ami, owned by you
# ec2-run-instance, which creates a new instance based on the previously created ami

Thanks to all
