Hi,
I would like to change some fields after I have created a listitem with a InfoPath formular.

I used the page: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/15477.aspx?PageIndex=1
to create the form and the settings

So I created in the formular a listitem.

Title: Test
Firstname: Scott
Lastname: Heim
Email: someone@hotmail.com
Phone: 555-1212

now I would change only the email field into somebody@hotmail.com
I will only update the emailfield. I dont want to delete this and create a new one.

Is that possible in the form?

I can change the emailaddress. But if I click on submit the emailaddress is still the same as before. It is someone@hotmail.com and not somebody@hotmail.com.

best regards

You have to use the update command with the CAML.

So you need a CAML for each function, one to insert, one to delete, one to Update.

It looks like you have the insert working.

For the update you also have to reference the item that you want to update.

It has been a long time but I think I have had Update working with a CAML once before.

hi, thanks for your fast replay.

I`ve created a second xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Batch OnError="Continue">
    <Method ID="" Cmd="Update">
        <Field Name='Title'></Field>
        <Field Name="FirstName"></Field>
        <Field Name="LastName"></Field>
        <Field Name="Email"></Field>
        <Field Name="Phone"></Field>
      <Field Name="Test"></Field>
      <Field Name="Ampel"></Field>
      <Field Name="ID"></Field>
    </Method>
</Batch>

I named it: updateitem.xml

and added the above xml to a new dataconnection.

dataconnection -> receive -> xml -> updateitem.xml

But what is the next step?

Sorry, I´m still a newbie in InfoPath...

I have to change something at the submitbutton I guess, isnt it?
