cannot track approvals and voting results via outlook 2010 with windows XP

We have exchange server 2010 and are users are using Office 2010 on windows XP. When they send voting emails or approval emails they can not see the results. Please note that they are send these emails to Office 2003 user also.

Please help me find a solution.

On the Organizer's machine, is he receiving the voting-responses from the end-users?

Are they allowed in the default INBOX for a while...so that this will be processed by Outlook.

else, when you double-click..open and close those responses...do we see the tracking responses for the voting-query.

Note:
Can we exclude the Outlook from the firewall of the windows XP machines?
