Centos5.3: local oracle install: error diplaying graphical installer... any ideas how to fix?

Hello Experts,

I am installing Oracle Client locally (Centos 5.3, no desktop on the server); but getting this error:

>>> Could not execute auto check for display colors using command /usr/bin/x/dpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is set.  Failed <<<<<

any ideas how to fix?

You had mentioned,

How are you accessing the server? The solution might be installing X windows client in your Windows system.

thank you expert,

it is a ESXi virtual machine... I am using vSphere console to do the install...

I read the info in the link... it is ok to install xorg? safe-wise...
